Gianfranco Ferré for Dior,
The Fashion Architect

When the Italian Gianfranco Ferré (1944-2007) took over the creative direction of the house of Dior in 1989, the qualified architect already had a successful label of his own.

With him, the ageing Christian Dior company developed an opulent, feminine and very contemporary style. Ferré followed a clear line in his designs using sumptuous and precious materials in bright colours.

Consisting of a costume jacket, sheer bodysuit and long skirt, the ensemble features opulent embroidery typical of Ferré's 1992 A/W collection for Dior.
