The goal of our project was to create a connection between Berlin‘s neighbourhood culture, especially that of hip-hop and high fashion. Berlin is the city of creatives. It was especially important to us to show why high fashion and Berlin‘s subculture go so well together and what an interesting tension can arise when the two are combined. Nowadays hip-hop is one of the most influential music genres worldwide and big brands like Gucci, Dior or Fendi advertise with rappers in their campaigns. Touring exhibitions that take place in other big cities often get a special personal touch, for the reason that they are connected to their environment and integrate the location in some way in the concept. That was also the intention of Hood Couture.
